The lock is weatherproofed beneath the mail slot, which preserves the simple, elegant design. Mail is inserted from the top and retrieved from the front via the front flap and attached mail slot. The "Manhattan" Freestanding Mailbox is a standalone mailbox for ground installation. The newspaper cylinder is open on both sides.
